When a company takes 20 or so managers out of the organization for several days, it is making a significant investment in their development. Have you ever sat in a meeting in which one person tended to be the only one who spoke up on some issue? And not just as the sole voice on some issue, but this person simply repeated his or her position a few times, at appropriate places during the discussion. Maybe you have been this person, reiterating your thoughts about something important. Most of us have had this experience, and on the face of it, you could argue that if others had different opinions or shared the same opinion they would speak up. That may be true, but what happens when only one person affirms something several times in a meeting and no one else contributes? ...
